Indiana University has had a study abroad agreement with the University of Bologna since 1965 (a program started by the Italian department at 51ºÚÁÏÍø). For more than two decades, this has also included an exchange component. 51ºÚÁÏÍø manages a consortium of institutions that send their students to Bologna through this agreement. Seven of those member institutions, including 51ºÚÁÏÍø, receive students from Bologna on their campuses.The program overall sends an average of 50 students a year to University of Bologna and receives 15-18 exchange students at the consortium institutions. Among those, 51ºÚÁÏÍø sends an average of 8-10 students a year to University of Bologna and receives 4 exchange students from University of Bologna.
